Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche begins this five-talk series with a succinct introduction to the Buddhist practice of meditation followed by a clear, inviting instruction in the practice itself.  His audience is largely composed of students new to Buddhism, attending the inaugural session of Naropa University in the summer of 1974.  In subsequent talks, Trungpa Rinpoche describes the view and practice of meditation in more depth, teaching on mindfulness, the mechanics of mind and the five skandhas, awareness practice, and the realization of emptiness.  An additional talk given in 1973 at the start of a nyinthun or day of meditation offers further encouragement to practitioners.

These archival videos have been enhanced with digitally remastered sound, and deliver an experience that is at once clearly from another time and entirely fresh and straightforward.  An included CD offers a study guide to allow individuals and groups the opportunity to explore each of the themes presented in more depth.
