Pema Chödrön
Pema Chödrön is widely known for her charming and down-to-earth interpretation of Tibetan Buddhism for Western audiences. Pema studied under the meditation master Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and currently studies with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. Pema is the resident teacher at Gampo Abbey, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

Chögyam Trungpa
The founder of Shambhala, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche (1939-1987) was the 11th in the line of Trungpa tulkus of the Kagyu lineage of Tibet.
He was instrumental in bringing the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism to the west, and was renowned for his ability to present the essence of the dharma in language that speaks directly to western students.
Thich Nhat Hanh
Thich Nhat Hanh is a Zen master, scholar, poet, and peace activist. He lives in Plum Village, his meditation community in France, where he teaches, writes, and gardens. He leads mindful living retreats worldwide. He was nominated by Martin Luther King, Jr. for the Nobel Peace Prize and is the author of over thirty books.
The eldest son and spiritual successor of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche is the holder of the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, as well as the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibet. Educated in Buddhist meditation, philosophy, and ritual, as well as calligraphy, poetry and archery, Sakyong Mipham was raised in both Eastern and Western traditions and is also an accomplished marathon runner. He teaches throughout the world.
