This introduction to Shambhala culture is offered to help answer questions that arise for many people. The content is not intended as a set of rules, but rather as an offering of different ways to extend our awareness practice. The intention behind all of the rituals, actions, and protocols is to put yourself and others at ease. The forms of decorum are tools we can use to uplift the overall situation. We can then offer that uplifted environment as a gesture of graciousness to others. In that environment, we can all relax in our mutual trust of basic goodness–– and then we have the possibility of joining the mundane with the magical. The Druk Sakyong called it "joining survival and celebration."
