Meditation at Home

This holiday season, we’d like to support our fellow practitioners, new and experienced, in finding balance in their lives. Since more of us are working from home these days, it's important to create the space of intention. For example, with a few touches, our home office could also be a place to reflect, meditate, or simply take a moment for ourselves.

We’ve asked our staff what from our Online Store might help to bring mindfulness and balance into the home. Here are a few suggestions:

Folding Fan

This simple white folding fan is an elegant way to uplift your space, marking a location as sacred. Approximately 10.5" long, with bamboo ribs. Bamboo stand included. Imported.

Pema’s Compassion Cards

With these cards, Pema Chödrön offers a powerful method to awaken compassion and empathy using the practice of lojong, which has been a primary focus of her teachings and personal practice for many years. In this boxed set, she provides all the tools needed to practice compassion in your own life.

Ceramic Bowls

It's a tea cup; it's a custard bowl; it's a shrine offering bowl. It holds 8 fluid ounces, measures 3-1/8" in diameter and 3" high (not measuring the lid). And it's adorable. Sold individually.

Japanese Rin Gong

Sometimes called Rin Bells (for their high musical tone), these Japanese Rin Gongs are spun brass. This one measures 3/5" across the top and is perfect for marking a change in time and space in your home environment. Work time is over, practice time begins!

Life of the Buddha

Create the space for meditation with your children by inviting them to share the Dharma with you. This book by Heather Sanche includes beautiful watercolor illustrations by artist Tara Di Gesu of the classic story of the Buddha's life.

Snow Globe Buddha

Snow Globe includes the sacred image of Lord Buddha in a way that suggests something magical. As you shake the globe, you could imagine that that all the diseases in the world are shaken loose and dispelled.
A playful and beautiful gift for any lover of meditation.

Decomposition Book

Classic composition book, but with a twist. 100% post-consumer-waste recycled pages. This is our favorite notebook for taking notes as we Zoom into the future. This composition book has a pleasant worn quality (it lies flat when it needs to) and a friendly feel. College ruled, lined. 80 sheets, 160 pages. Made in the USA.

Battery-powered Flameless Votive Candles

A safe alternative to burning candles, these Luminara Flameless Votive Candles run on AA batteries and feature a realistic flicker which emulates a real flame. Features an optional timer for convenient use.

Pure Vermont Maple Syrup

We hope you’ve enjoyed these suggestions for meditation at home. After your morning practice session, you might enjoy something sweet—from our Vermont home to yours. This pure maple syrup has been bottled by our neighbors the Stevensons for the past five generations. It really is a better tasting syrup!
